        Location: Built into the base of the wall on the north eastern side of the A377, about 25 metres to the north west of the bridge over the River Exe.

              Grid Reference: SX/907/955
              Location: Set into the south western parapet of Cowley Bridge, over the River Exe.
              Inscription: The first stone of this Bridge was laid on the 22nd day of June MDCCCXIII (1813) / James Buller of Downes Esq. Member of Parliament for the City of Exeter and John Quicke of Newton House Esq. / Magistrates for the County of Devon.

 Location: Set into the south western parapet of Cowley Bridge, over the River Exe.              
 Inscription: Cowley Bridge / Built in the years MDCCCXII (1813) and MDCCCXIV (1814) at the joint expense of the County of Devon and the Chamber of Exeter (The rest has now become illegible).
